FAQ's
Strip waxing is a traditional wax that is applied directly to the skin with a spatula and removed with adhering a paper cloth – fantastic and quick for larger areas – but quite harsh on the skin – not recommended to use on the face after any facial treatment or on medication such as Roaccutane, or products containing Vitamin A.
Lycon waxing is preferable for sensitive area – before the wax is applied an oil is applied directly to the skin so the wax can’t stick to the skin and works by shrink wrapping around each hair follicle – meaning less pain and redness for you.
Lycon wax is used for all our bikini wax services and underarms – strip waxing is used for legs and arms (and eyebrow, lip, chin, or face with Vicky and Sarah-Jayne) Lycon wax is used for facial areas with Ellie, Angelica and Sarah-Jayne.
*note not all our therapists are trained in lycon waxing only – Ellie, Angelica and Olivia – Vicky and Sarah-Jayne offer strip waxing for the face area which is slightly cheaper then the lycon that Ellie, Angelica and Olivia do.
About 5-10mm – please wait 3-6 (dependent on your hair growth) weeks – it is important all cycles of the hair are long enough to come out at the appointment – if you wax earlier at about 2 weeks the last cycle of hair growth would not have grown through and you will not have a smooth finish.
It is beneficial to exfoliate 24 hours prior to your treatment and moisturise – the day of your appointment please shower and do not apply any product to the area – this may prevent the wax from sticking if you do.
18+. Children under the age of 18 will need to attend the apt with their parent and ID will be checked.
Your therapist will go over the aftercare with you at the end of your apt but general advice: Not hot baths or showers for 24hrs, no sun exposure for 24hrs, loose clothing after treatment, do no exercise for 12 hours.
Standard – any hair outside a ‘brief’ knicker line is removed.
Thong – Follows the same as the standard but follows the line of a thong, offering a higher cut option and more hair removal underneath.
Brazilian – All hair is removed from the underneath included the bum (if you need) leaving a neat strip at the front.
Hollywood – completely bare.
Yes. It is much easier for our therapists to wax all the hair with your knickers removed – there is nothing worse then getting home and finding a hidden patch of hair! Our bikini specialists are regular waxers and will maintain and respect your dignity at all time and will put you at ease.
